Al Betz

Al is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Outfluence, LLC. His business career began in 1968 at the age of 19. His career as a court reporter traveled the path from the Maryland Workers´ Compensation Commission to the United States District Court for the District of Maryland. In 1977, Al entered the freelance court reporting business. Al has a nationwide reputation as a realtime reporter, an author, and a leader in the court reporting world.  Major legal matters he and his company participated in include the grand jury investigation of the Clinton Administration; trials involving Reagan Administration officials Deaver, Nofziger, Poindexter, and North; trials of former Washington, D.C. Mayor Marion Barry and former Maryland Governor Marvin Mandel; the divestiture trial of AT&T which resulted in the commencement of the telecommunications revolution; and the recent litigation involving alleged accounting fraud of Ernst & Young, WorldCom and Enron.

As an author, he has interviewed and transcribed the stories of numerous subjects, including families of 9/11 victims in an effort to preserve their loved ones' life stories. His first book, Polishing the Pearl: The Art of Professional Performance is a guide for young professionals seeking inspiration and knowledge.
